St. Andrews State Park Review

St. Andrews State Park, situated on the Gulf of Mexico in Panama City Beach, Florida, is a stunning destination for camping enthusiasts. The park offers a perfect blend of nature, recreation, and relaxation to visitors, with its tranquil setting on the banks of the St. Andrews Bay.

St. Andrews State Park. Typical RV PadAlthough the park faced significant damage from Hurricane Michael in 2018, St. Andrews State Park has made a remarkable comeback. The large and well-maintained camping sites are an excellent example of the hard work that has gone into restoring the park. Despite the hurricane’s impact, the sites are extremely nice, and visitors can enjoy an immersive camping experience.

The campground features gravel-based pads that are level and accessible, making it easy to park your trailer. However, larger rigs may find it challenging to navigate the narrow road, especially given the limited space to maneuver. The campground offers full hookups, and although the dump station was out of order during our visit, public restrooms and showers are available throughout the campsites. Fellow campers have raved about the facilities’ cleanliness and spaciousness.

The park offers a wide range of activities for visitors, including hiking, bird watching, fishing, swimming, SCUBA diving, and Geo-Seeking. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted to find an abundance of wildlife in the park, with deer strolling through the area in the late afternoon.

You can walk along the beach or climb the rock jetty to search for treasures that may have washed up. Geo-seeking is also a fun activity that can lead you to hidden sites, just like the three that we discovered.

In conclusion, St. Andrews State Park is an excellent destination for nature lovers, camping enthusiasts, and families seeking outdoor adventures. Despite the damage from Hurricane Michael, the park has recovered, offering visitors a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with nature and unwind amidst breathtaking natural surroundings.

Over all, we really enjoyed the camp ground.  We have not been traveling long, but we can honestly say so far, this was our most enjoyable stay.
